National Honours are awarded twice a year to mark the New Year and His Majesty The King’s Official Birthday in June. Honours are announced via the Honours Lists, which are published via the London Gazette, weblink below. Anyone can receive an award if they reach the required standard of merit or service.
National Honours include: Knighthoods, Damehoods, CBEs, OBEs, MBEs, BEMs. For further information on the differences between these awards, please use this London Gazette weblink.
Please note Peerages are not Honours. These are handled by The House of Lords Appointments Commission.
