Remembrance 2024

During the period of Remembrance the Antrim Lieutenancy was represented at over 20 events across the width and breadth of the County, which included events on both Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday.

This year His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mr David McCorkell, led the County in the Act of Remembrance in Carnmoney & Glengormley on Saturday and on Sunday in Portrush in the morning and Ballymoney in the afternoon. The Lord-Lieutenant laid wreaths on behalf of His Majesty The King. The Lord-Lieutenant then took the salute at the veteran’s parade in Ballymoney. The Lord-Lieutenant also attended the Festival of Remembrance in Lisburn.

​The High Sheriff of County Antrim, Mrs Patricia Perry, also attended the events in Portrush, Ballymoney and Rathlin.

All three Lord-Lieutenant Cadets attended events with the Lord-Lieutenant:

Portrush: Cadet Corporal Taylor Ashe, Cullybackey Detachment, 1st NI Battalion ACF, Irish Guards
Ballymoney: Cadet Sergeant Major Kate Addison, Lisnagarvey High School CCF, The Rifles
Carnmoney & Glengormley: Cadet Corporal Logan Beckett, Whitehouse Detachment, 1st NI Battalion ACF, Royal Irish.
